Iron Oxide/ Carbon Core Shell Nanoparticles

Iron Oxide Carbon Core Shell Nanoparticles architecture is an attractive alternative approach for developing multifunctional nanoparticles for MRI and drug delivery as well as for hyperthermia. Iron Oxide Carbon Core Shell Nanoparticles nanoparticles are synthesized by using different methods such as: water-in-oil micro emulsion, polyol, gas deposition, co-precipitation, sol-gel, pyrolisis, thermal decomposition of organic iron precursor, hydrothermal and others. Mostly used materials for the synthesis of core: magnetite Fe3O4 and maghemite γ-Fe2O3. Both magnetite and maghemite have cubic spinel structure.
